Custom boots

Made to measure custom boots -- my measurements are already on file
Note: The first time you get made to measure boots we'll refer you directly to Wesco

Our LOW base price is $439  ( $36 below retail! )

Firestormer Boot Options:

If there is an extra charge for an option, it's shown in parentheses after the option.

Height of boot in inches:

   8" / 20 cm $439
   standard 10" / 25 cm $439
   12" / 30 cm $469
   14" / 36 cm $477
   16" / 41 cm $485
   18" / 46 cm $531
   20" / 51 cm $585

Note: To determine where the top of the boot will be on your leg, measure
up from the heel of your stockinged feet along the back of your leg.
This should be done while in a seated position with the knees bent at a 90 degree angle.

The initial height of Firestormer boots will be 1" shorter than specified.
e.g. if you order a 10" boot, it will come up 9" from your heel. This is normal
for ALL lace-up boots. Read about this in our Boot FAQ here.

As they break in, the boots will drop about a half inch depending on their initial
height. However lined boots will stay very close to their initial height.

Consider getting a taller boot for better protection. The extra height doesn't add
much weight... most of the weight is in the sturdy sole and lower part of the boots.
Extra height is particularly important if you're tall.

A pair of 10" size 10 D Firestormer boots measures 12" from toe to heel
measured at the sole and 11" from the bottom of the boot heel to the boot top.
It will cover your legs up to the 9" point. (the 2" difference is in the thickness
of the heel, midsole, insole and insole liner)

Leather:

Heavy Black Oil Tanned Fire Resistant Leather - smooth side out is the only leather choice.
No other options are NFPA certified.

Regular Toe Style
Semi-Lace-to-Toe Style with Steel Safety toe - ( $16 )
Regular Toe Style with Steel Safety toe - ( $16 )

(Steel toes are not possible on lace-to-toe boots)

(Composite toes are not available on the Firestormer,
the boots have not been sent through the certification
      process with that option)

Heel Height:

- Click here to see more information on this option and a photo comparing heels.

Read the information there carefully. Boots made with the low heel last fit differently than the standard boots. The low heel will look like the boot on the right... the standard logger heel will look like the boot on the left in the photo on the link explaining heels.

Standard 2" / 50mm height Logger Heels
Logger Heels 1 lift lower ( ¼" / 6 mm lower ) - ($12)
Logger Heels 2 lifts lower ( ½" / 13 mm lower ) - ($12)
this is a low heel 1½" / 38mm height like a dress shoe.
Logger Heels 1 lift higher ( ¼" / 6 mm higher ) - ($12)
Logger Heels 1 lift higher ( ½" / 13 mm higher ) - ($22)

Size:

Don't estimate or just order the same size as some other footwear... measure your feet
to determine what size they are. Order boots the same size as your feet... not the same
size as some other footwear you own. Click here for advice on choosing the correct size

Sizes available when using Wesco's low heel last with the sleeker toe and 1½" / 38mm low heel This is the last used when you request a low heel. Low heels are 2 lifts (½" / 13mm) lower than Wesco's standard 2" logger heel. Boots made with this last fit about a half size large. So you need to order boots made with this last ½ size smaller than you would normally order for a Wesco boot made with the normal logger heel.

These custom made boots are currently taking about 14 weeks to build.

Note: Wesco boots, like many boots, are designed to be worn with heavy boot socks. They are made slightly large to allow for this. So, if your feet measure US Men's size 9½ and you wear size 9½ footwear, then size 9½ Wesco boots, worn with heavy boot socks, will fit you correctly.

If your feet are size 12 or longer, the extra room built into the Wesco boots is proportionally less generous than it is in smaller sizes. You might consider ordering your boots a half size large to allow room for expansion of your feet.

Big Black Boots is no longer taking orders. We have left most of our site up, including these order forms, because there is a lot of valuable information for customers who are interested in ordering boots direct from Wesco or Dehner. For instance, we have more detailed information about options than the manufacturer's website.

However, we have removed the ability to enter personal or payment information.
